Introduction

The 2nd Battalion had been ordered to secure another town called Pariana today — not the same one they captured two weeks prior. Facing them would be the die-hard Fascists of the Italia Infantry Division. These were not political hacks without military experience, but rather seasoned soldiers with nothing left to lose — as the Axis cause crumbled and II Duce fled for Switzerland, teams of anti-fascist partisans diligently hunted down any members of the pro-Mussolini forces.

Conclusion

Knowing their opponents' world was crumbling around them, the Nisei planned and executed their attack with care. The battalion took the Bersaglieri from three sides, denying them the ability to concentrate their firepower on any one attack, and threatening their flanks. After a while the Italians lost heart and withdrew, leaving the Americans to occupy the village.
