Introduction |
---|
During their study of German operations against the Soviet Union, limited as it was, French planners had come to believe that attacking panzer formations would be vulnerable to a coup de revers. This would be an attack against the flank they would inevitably expose while driving forward into enemy-controlled territory. At least that's the way it should have worked in theory. |
Conclusion |
---|
Superior German tactical leadership would have given the panzer division a major advantage over the French, who could not yet control their tanks as well as could their enemies. French bravery would not be in question, nor would French materiel. But the Germans had learned to use their advantages during the brutal Russian campaign, and would be on their way to Paris soon. |
