Introduction |
---|
This campaign game recreates the initial attack of the US 34th "Red Bull" infantry division across the Rapido and up the Cassino Massif. It is intended as an introductory campaign game, and only uses three areas of the map. |

The morale and combat modifiers of German Sergeant #1614 should be "0", not "8". (Shad

Strongpoints are single step units and can be eliminated with X results like any other single step unit. (Shad

|
The standard mix of strongpoints may be downloaded from Avalanche Press: http://www.avalanchepress.com/German_Strongpoints.php This is the standard mix found in Airborne, Airborne-IE, and Edelweiss Expanded. The strongpoint mix in Cassino '44 is different from that of other PG games. (plloyd1010

Strongpoints are affected by the terrain in their hex just like any other unit.
Even though they can't move, they can attack using Assault Combat if an enemy unit moves into their hex.
They may not dig in or benefit from entrenchments.

The movement allowance on the counters in Airborne is misprinted. It should be "3." (rerathbun

This was a fun campaign to play, playing solo doubled the amount of record or book keeping but the campaign rules are well thought out and easy to follow. Scenario length typically is 24 turns, but you do not have to attack each day, you could bank your campaign points for later days increasing the number of battalions you can field. These two campaigns would be great to play with multi players, with each player commanding a battalion or two. Would like to see other games in the PG Series use this campaign format instead of the 40 odd scenarios. |
