Introduction |
---|
Hoping to use the night to infiltrate British positions and capture Cheux, the 10th SS Panzer Division advanced again during the night. Ordered to attack, the elements of the division began what would be only a half-hearted attempt to gain the corridor. |
Conclusion |
---|
Heavy British artillery fire was credited with halting the German attack. Despite 9th SS Division claims of devastating fire, there is some question to the degree the attack was pressed. The day's battles had worn down and worn out the soldiers of both sides and it is likely that both wanted nothing more but to rest and recover. |
