Beyond Normandy Base Game
Introduction

By the 28th, the Germans had managed to gather enough forces to attempt to sever the British corridor at Mouen and Grainville. The British continued to push unit forward of the 11th Armoured and 15th Infantry Divisions as they in turn attempted to to secure and expand their bridgehead across the Odon River.

Conclusion

The German attack in the east began poorly as the promised artillery support from 12th SS Panzer Div. did not arrive. Despite a determined German effort, the British slowed the advance by midday. The 1st Bn of the'Der Fuhrer' Regt attacking from the west run into the 9th Cameronians in Grainville and the 7th Seaforths and 2 coys of enemy tanks moving west to widen the corridor. British artillery, air support and the presence of units moving south in the corridor made the difference. In the afternoon the British counter-attacked at Mouen, but gained little ground. Although ground was taken by the Germans, they had been halted, but not thrown back. The corridor had been narrowed but was still intact.
