Introduction |
---|
The American 80th Infantry Division's 319th Regiment relieved the battered remnants of the 28th Division's 109th Regiment on the 22nd of December and immediately began moving north. As the lead elements of the regiment approached Sure River west of Merzie they fell on the unsuspecting 915th Grenadier Regiment marching west. |
Conclusion |
---|
Unobserved, the 2nd Battalion of the 319th Regiment struck the rear of the German 2nd Battalion's column. The Germans set up a defensive perimeter around Merzig (Board 12), but the Americans screened the town and continued north. The 319th Regiment's 1st Battalion, following on the heels of the 2nd, contained the Germans with a minimum of force and headed north as well. By nightfall the 915th was isolated. |

There is a desync of 2 turns between the turn(time) indicators for reinforcements and special rules. I used the turn indicator rather than the time. (triangular_cube

Two 105mms (ID#s 1204, 1205) have "16-31" fire values in black (direct fire), when they should be in white (indirect fire). (Shad
