What I learned from this scenario:
Just because you are able to doesn't mean you ought to activate the bulk of your forces using chain of command. Sure, the Romanians were able to shoot and maneuver, jump into assaults and roll for recovery all in one action segment. But this sacrificed my flexibility.
What does everyone say about this game? WAIT! BE PATIENT! I wasn't and I was compelled to concede the game in disgust on turn 15.
I should have, but didn't, get my mortars and artillery into the town for the sighting bonus on the entrenchments. The Romanian artillery just isn't enough to make a dent in the Soviet entrenchments.
Entrenchments are most effective when they abut each other, and a ring of entrenchments placed in a field is especially hard to crack.
I was completely out-played by my opponent. It was one of those games where I knew what I should be doing, but my set up didn't allow me to do so. Thus, I was spinning my wheels the entire game.
