I couldn't find a reference for this unit anywhere. All infantry divisions had a light (recce) battalion in 1941, it was sort of like a Sissi unit. The one for the 1st Div was the 8th Light Batt. In 1944 there was an independent inf batt. The 1st Div's was the 3rd Batt from the 12th Inf Reg. |
