Combat Lessons Learned |

The Germans set up in hidden positions in an effort to cause as many casualties to the Soviets as possible. The Soviet tanks roared into view looking for German targets. Once encountered, the Soviet tank leaders showed their inexperience and seemed to freeze. Instead of rushing the German positions they came to a halt, seemingly content with trading volleys with the PzIIIs. Neither side was able to damage the other; however, the Germans were concentrating fire on the BT-7s, essentially halving the Soviet forces, accomplishing their mission. |
