Perhaps it was a bit gamey but the Soviets abandoned the east-west road and just ringed the southwest town with two layers of continuous trenches. FOs in the town to spot Romanians in the open and field areas to call in on-board and off-board arty (which blasted the Romanian colonel for a decapitation). HMGs in the outer ring to mow down as many Romanians crossing the open ground until they are overwhelmed. INF with leaders in the inner layer to grind down and slow the advance of the mountain troops. In then end a few town hexes were cleared of the Soviets but their victory was never in question.

For the one sidedness I rated the scenario a 1. I hope someone can crack this puzzle but it wasn't me.
