The Japanese had a strong line set up in front of both objectives behind the river feeding to Pojnt Cruz. The US did manage to a weak spot at the right end of the Japanese line. Being patient and using OBA and air to its fullest, the US made a patient assault at the end of the Japanese right. Fog of War was a significant factor, stopping the US from using quite a lot of artillery. However, as the US turned the Japanese right, the units released on turn 13 flooded the US left. From turn 14 on it was a giant jungle scrum. Th Japanese suffered very heavy losses and the US lost 13 steps. Both sides were within two hexes of the objectives, a draw. |
