At first glance, the British would look to have a tough but easily attainable victory. However, even though they had several objectives in possession at the beginning, they just couldn't get the rest needed. The SS were dug in and well positioned and could not be forced out of Gavrus. One objective ( hex 1520) was a open hex behind a hedge. A fierce fight developed over this, with the British not being able to take it. Neither side got a lot of OBA, with the results being about even. In the end the British and the SS took considerable losses and the Germans held on for the victory.
