Push to Moscow, Part III |
---|
Setup: The Soviets stick to the towns and the woods for their defensive positions. The Soviets unfortunately must split their forces into two. The Germans enter along the western edge of the board. Play: The Germans send most of their force into a beeline towards the northern town, while sending a blocking force along the road to keep any Soviets reinforcements from the forests. The Germans engage the Soviets in the town quickly, outnumbering them two to one, and begin an urban assault. The attack favors the Germans, and after a few hours, the Soviets have been driven from the town. Meanwhile, the Soviets attempt to reinforce the town from the south, but must punch through the Germans blocking force, which manages to try the Soviets down for just enough so that the Germans in the town can recover and come to the rescue. The Germans move south and crush the Soviets attacking on the road, and move south. The Germans move into the southern woods and the Soviets put up another tough resistance, but the Germans ultimately force the Soviets deeper into the woods, and the Soviets break completely. The Germans have finally secured the route to Moscow. Result: German Victory. |
