Scenario WhEa034

German mobility and firepower overwelmed Polish opposition in this scenario. The Germans had to establish a five hex wide corridor east west across the map. They could pick its location anywhere on the map. If they did this and kept step losses below ten they would achieve a major victory. This was easily done. The Poles were on foot with a large area to cover and a small number of troops with 1x8 arty factor. The Germans had 4x16 arty factors plus drew an air unit every other turn. The German units were Panzer units and Inf mounted on trucks and SPW's and they outnumbered the Poles. German units entering the map in three columns forced the Polish units to cover a large front. Establishing their corridor in the middle of the map the Germans eliminated Polish units in the corridor and kept other units from entering. The Poles basicly fought in three groups and could not inflect enough step losses or reduce the corridor. Arty and air power and the ability to move units to the corridor were major reasons for German victory. Because there was little the out numbered Poles could do to stop Germans I rated the scenario a 2.
