Not Enough Russians - Now There's a First! |
---|
Finns set up spread out along the road as they did not know where the Soviets would enter. Their slower 37mm AT gun platoon and HMG's were more centrally located as they are slower. Soviets entered from northeast corner since the light woods would make a faster march to the road. The Finns moved their southern forces north along the road to meet the Soviets. By winning the initiative rolls the Soviets were able to make the road relatively undamaged, but the Finns soon caught up with them. Fierce firefights at close range ensued. The Finns assaulted the Soviets with three platoons that were practically unstoppable and were able to eliminate a number of Soviet steps over two assaults. In the end the Soviets couldn't overcome the much higher morale of the Finns and the Finns took a convincing 13-2 victory. A fun solitaire scenario that warrants replaying sometime to see if the Soviets can possibly make a game of it. |
