Piecemeal Defense Won't Work |
---|
Germans set up two platoons entrenched on each of two southern hills with remainder of forces spread out in city and entrenched on northern hill. Finns approached from southeast and attacked closest entrenched units and quickly assaulted and overran them. 60% of Finnish forces headed north while remainder turned west to attack two other platoons on hill in woods. Finns assaulted units on northeast hill and took entrenchment and then moved into the southernmost town hex. Meanwhile, Finns struggled with Germans on southwest hill. In the end the higher Finnish morale and greater quantity of units proved too much for the spread out German mountain troops. At game's end only one town hex was still being contested and the Finns won 45-9. The scenario was fun and would probably be a lot closer if the Germans concentrate their defenses more. |
