The initial effort was made in the North with the invading forces in the hopes that the South hill could be later cleared by the reinforcements when they arrived. Unfortunately, the reinforcements came onto the field of battle four turns too late... by then the Russians had already gotten their reinforcements into good positions on the Southern hill. When all was said and done there was no way the Japanese Commander could get the Russians off the hills in time to make the scenario time constraints. The game was called with couple of turns left. (Note - This scenario was too full of "special rules" and was fought at night making close contact a particular. Not a very good scenario altogether for shared play, although it was interesting for the sake of the battle.) |
