I had Better Tanks - but still got Outflanked, Outhought and Outfought | ||||||||||||||

Another 5-session thrashing at the hands of the sly T-Rex and his hard-fighting Aussie infantry and crummy tanks. Not much to add to the AARs that others have filed in this unbalanced - Allied advantaged - boxing match in the Libyan desert. Both sides drew relatively poor leaders and the Axis suffered a senior leader decapitation, plus had incredible bad luck with the Fates and dice gods in our 3rd and 4th sessions. Way too many FOW-shortened turns in this play-through, but it was more fun that expected with a lively and very keen opponent. I give it a generous 3 in shared play and recommend a thorough rewrite -- and the addition of at least 3 turns of air support for both sides -- to make it more balanced. As published, it is more suitable for solitaire play. |

A fine AAR, but the British tanks got very lucky, AT die rolls and survived a hail of surprisingly, inaccurate Axis armor gunnery. It was the bayonets & hand grenades of the close-assaulting, Australian infantry that won this close run fight.
