The initial effort for the Australians was to set up a battle group near both bridges where the idea was to hold, then retreat to the woods. The Germans attacked the Left-hand bridge which pushed the Aussies back into the nearby woods, where they attempted to hold as planned. Some reinforcements were drawn from the Right-hand bridge in an effort to hold the Germans around the bridgehead... to no avail. The German reinforcements came in on turn 14, South of the river, which routed the Australians in that area... even though they were dug in. They tried to run toward the nearby woods after their defensive line failed but that had little effect on the German onslaught. The game was called early because of the overwhelming German force. (Note - This scenario is best played solo.)
