The key to this one was the singular AT gun the Americans possessed which, unfortunately, was destroyed early on in the game. After that the game turned into a chase for the finish, in which the tanks that the Germans brought to the fray proved virtually unstoppable. (Note - This one is a good one for two players... with the provision that the American player takes care of that AT gun!)
