Ground to Almost Dust | ||||||||||||||

I'm a little conflicted about rating this a 2. It wasn't a bad scenario, it just didn't offer much in the way of alternative approaches and the Japanese more or less get beat on by the Americans for ~25 turns. Lots of morale rolls, if you're into that you might rate it a bit higher. As the Japanese defenders I set up a series of roadblocks and put my 81mm platoon on higher ground. My officers were only so-so, but they did a good job keeping their men organized in the face of Peter's withering firepower. The fog is Japan's best defense. Lack of knowledge regarding my deployment forced Peter to play more cautiously than he would have if he knew where all of my forces were arrayed. Japan never inflicted a step loss on the Americans, but they slowed them enough to earn a hard-fought draw. |
