Dashed against short boulders | ||||||||||||||

My Americans marched north through the fog. We knew the Japanese were out there waiting for us, but we didn't know where or when they would strike. My opponent blockaded the trails at the northern edge of the map, which made the opening turns peaceful but allowed him to concentrate enough firepower along a wide enough front to prevent any hopes of American victory. There were some dreadful rolls at key moments for both sides that would have hastened American defeat or perhaps given them a chance if they'd gone in other directions. Looking at AARs of American wins, I believe this scenario is a guaranteed Japanese victory if they dig-in on the muskeg tracks. They will be too hard to root out, and the win condition is too punishing for the Americans. |
