Range 1 cavalry battles typically dont work in PZG, and this one is no exception. Germans are supposed to set up in a screen around the town on 4 and the Cav are supposed to poke a hole through a weak spot and charge the 105s in the town, but the reality is the Germans will fall back turn 1 and by turn 2 be in the town with stacks of INF and the CAV will not be able to do much to them. As long as the 105s are set up in the center of the town so they cant be spotted by the Soviets, they dont have to fear the OBA and ultimately the CAV are massacred be it by attacking, or just the 105s themselves over the course of the game. The Soviets are able to set up a x3 HMG stack in the woods in within range of part of the screen though, which could pin some units in place on turn 1 for the Cav to pick up some kills. Unfortunately the Germans won init on turn 1 and rolled well with the 105s and dis/demd them before they could fire a shot. Reinforcements ultimately dont matter as once the Germans are in the town the Cav arent going to drive them out. This got a "2" but its a very low "2". |
