#10 Rytel Position |

German assault against Polish entrenchments, minefields, wire and 3 casemates, luckily the Germans have a company of engineers and plenty of OBA support. There are three victory conditions, all German, step losses, controlling either E-W road and controlling both E-W roads. The Polish forces have to cover both roads so as not to give the Germans an easy victory by concentrating all their forces on one road, the terrain favors the defense with the Germans having to negotiate around swaps in full view of the Polish defenders. The main German force struck the southern E-W roads Polish defenses after taking some disruption fire from Polish OBA on the approach march, it had limited overall effect. It was slow going with heavy fighting but the German infantry with the support of OBA & HMGs reduced one Polish entrenchment after the other, as well as two casemates on this portion of the battlefield. To the north the German forces attacking along that road made some progress due to all the Polish attention going to their forces under heavy attack down south, these German troops did not clear the road but they kept any Polish troops from reinforcing their comrades. Germans achieved two out of the three VCs for a minor victory. Good battle that come down to the last 9 turns. |
