Scenario IrCu015

This was a Face to face scenario vs Greg Celentano. He played the Soviets. The U.S. had to set up spread out to cover both villages because the Soviet entry was anywhere on the south or East edge. The Soviets entered on the north end of the east edge while at the same time threating the center village. This kept the Americans from reenforcing the other village to any great extent. The Soviets took just one step loss while closing with the American positions in the village. Even though the Soviets had no leaders that gave a combat modifier they could still get 30 firepower factors on just about every direct fire shot. After a while this took it's toll as the Americans lost steps to double demorilazations and direct step losses. Eventually the Soviets got in position for assaults. With 30 factors in each attack the Americans were soon overwhelmed. This was a nice little scenario. The Americans could have done better. Their inital set up was flawed as it anticipated a different entry point than what the Soviets actually did. Had the U.S. been able to bleed the Soviets a little before they closed the U.S. may have had a chance to hold out.
