Eventually the Japanese become too bold with their assaults and get cut down. While they were still able to take the jungle related terrain the area around the plantation with the prepared fire lanes was a death trap. This does NOT mean that a lot of Aussies didn't die, merely that a lot more Japanese died. Finally an Aussie win...
