Scenario FrRu041

It is too bad that this can't be ranked about an 8 or 9. If you get the room to set up a six map scenario you cannot go wrong with this one. Three separate large Soviet groups are attacking an Italian position with very few reserves. It will be impossible for the Italians to stop every thrust. In my play the Soviets in the north were able to get onto the hill and were trading assaults with the defenders but would ultimately take enough of the hill to keep from losing the scenario. The primary reason for that was that the largest Soviet unit, which attacks in the center of the Italian line was able to break through to the woods behind the line but was then held in place by the Monte Cervino battallion and ultimately crushed. This did, however, take time, which could not then be used to chase the Soviets off the northern spur. In the southeast, the Soviets were able to filter through the Italian line but were halted short of Jagodny by the headquarters troops in the town and heavy artillery concentrations.

Make the room necessary to play this scenario, they don't get any better than this. BTW there are no AFVs at all
