The German victory conditions are control of either north-south road, exit 20 good ordered units off the south map edge and eliminate more Polish steps than German while the Polish forces start entrenched, with several mine fields and wire markers to hinder the German advance. The Polish force set up to deny both roads to the Germans with the hope that they could delay them long enough to win two of the three victory conditions but the Germans had other plans. Not wanting to fight house to house to clear the town on map 4 the Germans chose to concentrate on the eastern road using their mixed armor force to cover their right flank while the infantry advanced down the road. The German engineers were able to clear the mine fields along the road in front of the Polish forces but it did not go as smoothly as they hoped, once the engineers were spotted the Polish forces concentrated all their fire of the engineer company but the Germans countered with OBA, mortar and infantry gun fire to suppress the Polish position. One by one the Germans eliminated or routed the Polish infantry with overwhelming force, the Western Polish forces tried to counter attack but the German Panzers broke up the Polish infantry that was advancing in the open. The Polish forces fought hard but in the end the Germans were able to get the Trifecta of victory conditions and a Major Victory. |
