Leyte 1944, Scenario Thirty-Seven: Camp Downes The 77th Infantry Division has to fight through the worst terrain to try and be able to achieve three victory objectives and levels. Unique but both sides have air-power. The Americans get clogged up on the narrow entry road, entering map 82 and send some flanking units and also some Recon units up the major hill trail, as even with all that terrain, with a movement of 4, they should be able to get through first. The Battle was a long drawn out one, as the Japanese put up a fight with all types of mixed units but the Americans were able to achieve 2 out of 3 victory objectives for a Minor Victory and just barely. The Japanese still controlled a northern road hex but lost 24 steps and 5 leaders to the Americans 7 steps lost and 1 leader. |
