Leyte 1944, Scenario Thirty-Three: Premature

The starving troops of the Japanese 16th Division attacked a day before they should have and have no help from the airborne comrades. The Japanese with only a 7/6 morale are hard pressed to achieve their victory conditions in this scenario and most are reduced units to begin with. I figured I should stack my units three high and risk the direct fire modifier to hopefully get some assaults in that might survive the fire-first dug-in American troops but the assault dice were not in the Japanese favor today. The Japanese even occupied the empty airfield for a couple of turns before being blast out of that hex and still worst the American reinforcements entered on turn 8 before the Japanese had a chance to maybe put up a fight. A clear American victory on this scenario.
