Title is a play on the scenario introductory text.

German Set Up: 1306 MTN(R) 1312 2xMTN(R) Dug-in 1016 HMG + ENG Dug-in 1017 ENG + MTN 0916 MTN 0917 HMG + MTN Dug-in 0827 2xMTN Dug-in 0828 2xMTN 0727 MTN(R) + 76.2 mm

Soviets set-up north of mid-board, roughly 2217.

Early moves have Soviet forces approach the lone reduced MTN + ldr on 1306; advance to engulf 1312; and place a holding/pinning group between the central & southern hill complexes. Soviet OBA scores an early X result killing the MTN(R) holding 1306. Likewise, Soviets have early success with DF routing the 1312 units. Early German OBA and on-board BF focuses on the 81mm mortars.

Germans counter attack from the central hill complex and reinforce with two platoons from the southern. Savage assault combat ensues.

Soviet OBA ultimately accounts for 5 German steps including counter-battering the 76.2mm.

By Turn 26, the Soviets have lost 48 steps (out of 69); the Germans 18 (and three leaders) but have undemoralized units on both the central and southern hills. The Soviets have two leaders remaining and most surviving units are scattered; not in good order; and reduced to 6 morale.

As Germans lost more than 10 steps, but occupied hexes of two hills, scenario was a draw.
