The Italian armor advanced northward, hugging the east edge of the field of play. The Aussies realized the error of putting their AT gun in the north entrenchment, and its attached infantry manhandled the gun out of the entrenchment into an exposed position within range of the attacking armor. The two sides traded fire for hours, mostly inconclusively (although the Italian L3/35 platoon was destroyed, this was the sole loss in the engagement).
