Like all things French, we took the best positions to delay the Germans from coming through the villages by road, only to discover we were outgunned and out ranged by superior German armor. Given how quickly they advanced, the holding force able to retreat South to the edge of the map, through the foothills that blocked visibility, saving the Hotchkiss tanks and most leadership. Three recon units were surrounded, overrun, and captured as was a Lieutenant who escaped into the foothills, chased by an PzII tank and SK222 armored car. The units who managed the retreat were highly encouraged to join the Vichy French in short order, where baguettes and onion soup were in great supply.
