Scenario HeMe006

The British forces were out gunned and out manned for this scenario, the only bright spot was the majority of the VC’s, town hexes, were close to the British side of the map, and the SS infantry would have to fight hard to wrestle those town hexes from British control.

Armor Mobility was lacking on both sides, the British with their Centurion’s, Black Prince and Churchill’s, while the SS had their “Triple T’s”, Tigers I, II & III.

The British armor had some luck against the early Tigers but no luck at all against the IIs & IIIs, lack of mobility hurt the British as they tried to get the crossfire bonus with no luck.

Those Tiger IIIs, wow, with 12-10 AT factor and armor of 8, one platoon almost took out a company of Centurion’s in one OPF, at max range with a -2 modifier for range & OPF (good roll of the dice helped).

In the end the Germans bombed the town hexes in preparation for their infantry assault, which was bloody for both sides, but by this time the Germans had a comfortable lead in VPs, so they did not need to assault all the British occupied town hexes.
