Close Assault Sequencing 101
Say, that there is an existing assault hex that contains a disrupted friendly Lieutenant, one disrupted friendly infantry units and 2 friendly good order infantry platoons. Hence, an existing friendly 3-stack of combat units in this assault hex. If an adjacent hex contains a friendly Captain and a good order infantry platoon, is there any rule that precludes the following sequence of assault-related movement?
1) the Captain activates with a fire order to begin an assault movement into the assault hex and gives his accompanying infantry in the same hex a fire order,
2) the Captain then moves into the assault hex and gives the friendly disrupted infantry platoon and disrupted infantry unit a movement order to depart the hex, while he simultaneously gives the good order units in the assault hex their fire orders, then
3) the adjacent-hex infantry unit who already has a fire order, follows his Captain into the assault hex, creating a 3-stack close assault that is then ready to roll the close assault combat die.
I can find no rule that prohibits this sequence of assault movements in a single activation. Am I missing something?
