Does look like the above list works. 3rd addition doesn't differentiate between AB and Groundslogger officers, but the countermix seems to work. We need an in-print set of strongpoints for at least 5 nationalities in the system that displays strongpoints without i.d. numbers, so their values are truely random in play.

Yipe, three (1, 2 and 6) out of the first six is not a good sign. Hope I didn't just perjure myself on BGG! Sad Can you check all 35? Look at those notes sections Robin mentioned.

Also: is it correct that 5 of the 20 scenarios from 1st edition needed other games?

I've come up with some darn good observations and suggestions,, which is how other readers here post stars for credibility Jim, you're just not that credible :-}.. I'm a recruit because I've never posted an AAR and thus am "undefeated" like that infamous International Panzerblitz wargaming society of the middle 70's that awarded Wehrmacht ranks to members and points were earned for winning and drawing in competition and showed up in uniforms at the first wargamer conventions.

Scenarios 8,16,17,18 and 19 of 1st edition Airborne reqire boards from PG1st and Heros. This was before the pronouncement of the "Fulda Rule" that all boxed games had to be complete with components in the box, a rule you executed in your re-design of 1898.

Now that would have been a hoot!

Thanks for the info on 1st edition, Larry.

Alas, I didn't pick up on Robin's tip until chided by Larry this AM... Robin wasn't looking in the scenario book, he was looking at the scenario descriptions in PG-HQ! The information was here all along! I missed it when I went through the map list. I am impressed you can even bring up counter images from the OOB list on each scenario!

The final count: 14 3rd edition scenarios can be played with the module! 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 11, 14, 15, 16, 18, 22, 28, 31 and 35.

Thanks all, for helping to get this straightened out! I will have to try more of this game myself... I have Bulge and Guadalcanal [with the ultra-rare collector's edition "Gualdalcanal" cover], but have only used it for some home-brew scenarios (Wake Island, Midway, Bataan).

It is when you have to be up at 5 a.m. (and ready to fly by sunrise).

I see you've already answered the original question yourself . . .

There's no limit to the information available on PG-HQ! Big Grin

RE: Comparing Airborne 1st, 2nd and 3rd
I don't know how much of an overlap there is with the pieces from Airborne IE and the pre-reqs for Airborne Revisited and that will be the key. I just purchased Airborne Revisited to be able to download and play the Airborne IE VASSAL module. I used the Excel spreadsheet to calculate playable scenarios and Airborne Revisited doesn't add a single analog scenario to what I already own. So I guess I really did buy it just for VASSAL.
