The hex 0214 and similar are rice paddies and are treated like fields. True they are very wet fields.

Hexes 0411, 1010, or 1213 and similar should be treated like slope hexes.

I hope that helps? Unlike Saipan which has actual cliff hexes, there are none yet in the Korean War.

Jay - Thanks. That helps although it opens up a few new questions. I'm looking at the 4th ed Terrain chart and perhaps the issue is that this was designed using 3rd edition.

Rice Paddies have their own entry in the chart and are slightly different than fields (not limiting terrain, can't entrench, slightly higher movement costs).

Slopes are defined in the terrain chart as "any hex with an elevation line running through it." That would seem to exclude the hexes I asked about above.

Not trying to be difficult. My goal is always to play as the designer intended, but I'd also like to be able to use the terrain chart that came with the game.
