Systemic inconsistency means rework.
Waltzing Matilda introduced the Type 3.

Okay, AT value seems a little off for a 75L38 gun, but not so bad.
Then comes
Armor of Saipan. Type 1, Type 4, and a new Type 3.

A little awkward, but fortunately Japan had two Type 3 designs, the Chi-Nu and Chi-Nu Kai. So make the new Type 3 the Chi-Nu Kai, and put the new tanks in the Axis Specials extension. Not a very elegant solution, but there are only 2 scenarios to consider, so it works.
Now there is
Pacific Armor and
Mindanao 1945. Type 1, Type 4, and Type 3 is now standardized?

All the Japanese armor in Axis Specials need to migrate to OOB Japanese Army 1944-45. Chi-Nu now needs 2 versions, as does the So-Da, and perhaps the Ho-Ni.
That leaves 1 half-weird question. What about the Type 3 Chi-Nu Kai (which was never actually produced)? Maybe this in the Axis Specials?
Looks like something that might work with the autogyro...
Okay, rant is finished.
