I agree. Someone has to be in charge. Thanks, Mike

RE: 6.72 Decapitation
Fred,

Also worth remembering that if for instance the leading Lt Col gets done in and leaves 2 Major's in charge, the stack with the Major, should the 1st one of these get killed also suffers 'catastophic loss'. (6.73). If the 2nd Major also becomes a casualty, then catostrophic loss plus decapitation hits ..... Then your down to asking if any Captains fancy the job ? hehe.

RE: 6.72 Decapitation
I guess I worry that a multiple decapitation rule might make things a bit too gamey. Knowing exactly where all enemy officers are at a 200-meter-per-hex scale is a sacrifice we made to playability, and the general practice of going after enemy officers to disrupt command and control is fine. But going after specific leaders in top-down rank order multiple times for the specific purpose of creating multiple rules-specific decapitation effects stretches the bounds of credibility and can steer game play away from simulation toward gaminess. Once you've taken out the enemy LTC, you might know where the enemy Majors are, but would you know exactly what would happen and for how long each time you took another one out? You should certainly be rewarded for taking out the enemy CO, but it stretches credibility to say that you'd know exactly what would happen to your enemy's forces each time you take out a replacement CO. Having that knowledge might cause players to make multiple hail-Mary attacks just to go for rules-specific decapitation effects, and that's not cricket IMO.

This is an interesting discussion regarding multiple decapitation. Although not specific in the rules, I will raise the idea. Should there be a clarification on multiple decapitation?

Yes, there needs to be a clarification. I like having it but do see upintheattic's concern of gamey-ness.

RE: 6.72 Decapitation
I'm firmly in the decapitation can only happen to a side once per-scenario camp, and believe it should be clarified thereas.

I agree. Leave things that can be decapitated more than once to B grade horror flicks...

Shad, how about a quick poll on this at the top of thread, like you have done for others?
