Short turns
Anyone else have a game that was just short turn after short turn? Granted we are only 6 turns in but it's been crazy so far.

My number of AS's:

9, 8, 6, 4 , 4, 6.

I'm defending so it helps me some but these are so short I've been unable to rally or support some assault hexes.

Just finished one where the Germans really needed longer turns and got 3 short turns in a row twice.

It's funnier to me when you need 19 activations to get all the units move and FoW hits after the 18th.

It happens...

If you feel it has terribly blown the scenario for one side or the other, just stop and reload...
No "minor" country left behind...

Nah, I think we've been about equally screwed so far. I just lost 2 reduced su-85 platoons because he was able to assault them in a town hex and I didn't get a chance to move some inf into support them. I also was unable to try and recover 2 disrupted SMG's in a town assault hex and he was able to assault them again since he got initiative.

He was unable to move all his guys and he has a pile of troops waiting to come onto the board. The were much delayed by non-5 or 6 die rolls and now by 1 short turn.

So far I'm really enjoying this battle.

RE: Short turns
I'm playing Scenario 2 of the Tashlyk Bridgehead battle game from Broken Axis. I'm 6 turns in. This is a 4 map scenario with probably 60 or so units for the Germans, a few less for the Soviets). I'm 6 turns in. The Germans are attacking.

Impulses per turn (I don't have my sheet in front of me, and this is pretty close).

1. G10, S10 (it was dark out, and most was done by subordinate movement, so this got all the units that wanted to be active doing something)
2. G5, S6.
3. G5, S5
4. G5, S4
5. G20, S20 (a full turn!)
6. G7, S6

If you don't think this is messing with the German timetable, you haven't played PG much. Smile

RE: Short turns
BTW, I have to revise those numbers. On those 3 turns, the Germans actually only got 4 impulses!
