RE: Saipan 1944
Why did the US infantry platoons in Europe not get equipped with the same armaments so as to receive the same kind of firepower potential if it is that powerful ?

RE: Saipan 1944
Good question? Maybe direct it towards AP Mike, as he upgraded the Marine counters.

But I am guessing due to the close in fighting and different branches in different locations of the world but I am not sure.

What did you have them as then Jay ? The same as Guadal ?

If so, without seeing the finished product, it might be fun trying some of the scenarios twice, using the different marine types for each play ?

Yeah, I didn't have any upgraded counters but I know Mike mentioned a long time ago, before this game even, that PG would see upgraded Marine counters, with higher firer power values for 1944-45 someday. I guess that someday is now!

Believe it or not Saipan had a pretty big railroad system with an island it's size and many guns to be emplaced were still on rail-cars at the time of the invasion!

With the city of Garapan and the towns of Charan Kanoa & Tanapag there was also urban fighting.

Are we going to see any of the maps before the product is shipping?

RE: Saipan 1944
Guy Rissen posted the Kursk maps on BGG a week or two before the game was published if my memory does not fail me.
