Demoralizadoed Fleeing Units
Tread and I had a situation where I had demoralized units fleeing an assault hex and they had to flee to a hex only occupied by a demoralized leader he had. We played it that they both occupied the same hex. At a later point if my units could have recovered and his leader was still there, then I could attempt to capture. Was this correct? Thank you.

RE: Demoralizadoed Fleeing Units
"We wasn't running from the fight! We just saw a chance to grab this here guy!"
I brought this question up as a hypothetical long ago. It was thread number 210 and the year was 2012. The consensus was that the leader would still be subject to displacement or elimination. Poor Yorek did suggest a house rule that would allow the leader a better chance of escape.

RE: Demoralizadoed Fleeing Units
How could a fleeing, demoralized combat unit from a close assault hex capture a demoralized leader on a throw of 9 or higher?
Isn't any demoralized unit limited to ONLY trying to improve its morale and nothing else?

RE: Demoralizadoed Fleeing Units
So, no demoralized leader capture is possible in this case since the fleeing, demoralized combat unit arrived in the hex due to a failed morale recovery attempt. This sounds correct, IMHO.

No, the conclusion was the opposite. Combat unit in hex with lone leader, roll for displacement/elimination. What cannot happen is pursuit of the leader if displaced, as that would require an action, and as CavDo noted, the only action a demoralized unit can perform is recovery attempts.
I suspect that many of you are imagining that a demoralized unit is a mob running in unified abject terror. I don't think that is quite the case.

RE: Demoralizadoed Fleeing Units
Thanks for the clarity, on this oddity, Peter.
I do think that this is a bizarre interpretation, but it is easy enough to do. I guess that one can envision a fleeing, panicky, disorganized, platoon engulfing & carrying off a single leader that they stumble on in their haste to escape a close assault.
