River Battleships - Introductory Scenario

I've punched out my first Panzer Grenadier game - River Battleships - and was sitting down to tackle the introductory scenario, when it occurred to me that the Soviets have no way to get across the river.
Am I missing something really obvious?
I ruled that there were fords from the island in the middle of the river across to the two banks, and the Soviets came to that way. Of course, once the Romanians knew that it was easy for them to line up their HMGs...

Only the Soviet 76,2mm gun (and its captain) sets up on the north side of the river. The rest of the Soviets set up on the south side of the river, after the Romanians do.

Ha, thanks, Sarge, I had missed something obvious!
I'll set it up again, and I'll expect the Soviets will have a happier time this go.
