Questions about 1914 TEC Road Movement
The TEC specifies that it costs two-thirds of a Movement Point to travel down one Road Hex, correct?

If this is correct, then, I'm afraid that my arithmetic skills have declined to the point where I am unsure of exactly how to calculate how far units may travel down the Road at 2/3rd MP per hex. For example, if each Road Hex is 2/3rd MP per hex, How many hexes down the road can a 2MP unit move? What about a 3MP unit? A 5MP unit?

I thought about it and I merely suspect that the correct formula is to DIVIDE the MP of the unit by .66 to arrive at the solution. I tried Multiplying .66 and that was obviously wrong. Division by .66 generates a solution that looks like it might be correct. Am I right?

Thanks for the help.

RE: Questions about 1914 TEC Road Movement
The way I do it is for every 3 hexes you move on a road it costs 2 movement points.
So, a unit with 4 mp could move 6 hexes on a road.
A unit with 3 could move 4 hexes (3 for 2 plus 2/3 for the last hex)
A unit with 2 mp could move 3 hexes on a road.
A unit with 1 mp can only move 1 hex on a road. (2/3 for the one hex move with 1/3 remaining not allowing a second hex)
enjoy!

And it's even easier if you just make it 1/2 a MP per road hex for personnel or mounted units as in this house rule that many of us iconoclasts use when playing PG:
Road Movement for Mechanized & Foot Units
All FOOT & MECHANIZED units may move on roads at the rate of 1/2 a Movement Point (MP) per road hex, just like MOTORIZED units in PG.

If we are going to use some House Rules, and, may I add, Maybe we SHOULD - let's have a House Rule that increases the range of the Machine Gun companies. They should shoot farther, but at maybe half strength.

Amen to that idea, Lad!

Just like the English longbowmen on this day in 1415 at Agincourt in France. Those biting shafts carried much further in the air than the French knights were expecting that day, que no?

We few, we happy few . . .

I think of it this way:

A 2 mp unit move 2/3+2/3+2/3 for 6/3 which is equal to two.

A 3 mp unit move 2/3+2/3+2/3+2/3 for 8/3 which is as close as it can get to using its full three (or 9/3) movement points.
