RE: Consimworld
Never liked it. Feels like trying to have 10 simultaneous meaningful discussions in a crowded, noisy pub.

Or like this:

...came for the cardboard, stayed for the camaraderie...

RE: Consimworld
True enough on the discussions, but it was also the best way to get APL game support.
I wonder if there will be a replacement.

RE: Consimworld
I think just about everyone would like to see an improved version of the forums, and I suspect we'll be stuck with the same old non-threaded, hard to search version.

Going to threads would not be an improvement in my opinion, and I am not alone. This discussion has come up on CSW many times, and many of us prefer a discussion format to a threaded one.

(Not that threads are all bad, Shad!)  Tongue

RE: Consimworld
I just checked and it's still not responding. I hope it does not go down since there were several places worth looking into. Also some companies only used CSW for communication. I have the Central Front Series and Tank Leader counters that SPI Wreaking Yard did and I would not have even known about them without CSW. The other series games by APL are only discussed there. And there was great discussion and AAR's on many of GMT's games.

RE: Consimworld
If you go to the main Consimworld page he's giving updates on the restoration process.

Discussion is fine for, well, discussion. It's not so great, IMO, if trying to find the answer to a specific issue.
