Gorgeous choice for a title page. Now we absolutely have to bug Jay into creating the first 3-era supplement, the War of the Worlds in Infantry Attacks, Panzer Grenadier, and Modern PG.

The George Pal version IS a classic sf film. I wasn't in it, I was 3 at the time, but I lived within the lethal blast radius of the Hydrogen bomb used on the tripod colony in Los Angeles. The film includes rare footage of an airforce jet powered flying wing from the early jet era. The War of the Worlds tv series was a direct sequel to the 1953 film, with one of the protagonists being the adopted son of Gene Barry's character, and on episode where the female lead from 1953 reprised her character as an invalid old woman in an insane asylum (she never recoved from her experiences).
