I was wondering about that, Alan. Seems like getting Fall of Empires out this year would be extra-appropriate. I was also thinking releasing a "Guns of August" themed IA game for the start of the war in the West might be a good move by August 2014...

Yes, all would be good. Just a question of design, development and delivery for the timeframe.
No way could a game befitting August 14 for France, Germany & Belgium be designed, mapped, developed, edited, printed mistake free, packed and sent to all buyers in that time. I would be loathe to see such a brisk treatment of what would be presumably one of the most important packages in the set.
Probably not in buyers hands by August, but I wonder about having it to them in advance of Christmas 2014.
I'm assuming it would be similar size to August 1914, i.e. 3-4 88 x 2 counter sheets. Could be several games (and just aim to release one in 2014)... maybe have one focus on the early days through Belgium and the initial German encounters with the French, one focused on the BEF and nearby French units vs. the Germans, one on the defense of Paris / Battle of the Marne, and one with the French vs. Germans down south in Alsace-Lorraine.
But what it probably needs more than anything is,
Volunteers to the Front!
To design etc.
