I feel your pain. I can be very frustrating when SSR's are not overly clear on what rules to use when both players are doing their darndest to win.

Yep. Indeed. Especially when the back cover of the game states : "The campaign saw the largest tank battle of the Pacific war, and also its largest banzai charge".

Leonard, you are talking about scenario #39 which is setup to represent the large Banzai attack of the war to that point. The situation simulates a mass Banzai attack with the special rules, in the fact that the Japanese initiative never lower in this scenario and their victory objectives are eliminated American steps. One for every step and leader eliminated, tanks and artillery count double. I think this scenario does and excellent job Simulating a mass Banzai attack. Now if only I could get some of you to play it other than myself to confirm it!
