This is a corner case, which I don't expect was ever considered in design. Technically, the +2 for firing at adjacent would not apply to the friendly fire roll, it is a non-sequitur.

That said, LOS bombardment and open sights firing has been a sore spot with me. Part of the friendly fire roll, I think, is miscommunication under stress. As communication between the spotter and the firing unit is not an issue, there should be a +1 to the friendly fire roll. For howitzers and similar guns, the probability of miscalculation is less that that of mortars rocket launchers, so maybe the open sights friendly modifier should be +2.
