OK, let me try this again. Let's say the two column results were M2 (column A) and X (column B), which happens not infrequently. One unit would take a step loss, the gun because it gets the "X" (from Column B), and then the INF would take an M2 because it flows from the gun result. That's it, one attack and done even though there were two column results....and one attack is all that occurs from the single die roll. The INF would not take the second result, another M2, from Column A because then a single unit would have multiple attack results.
